Install Time

So I downloaded this game digitally from the PS Store this afternoon.

Downloaded fine but taking forever to install on my system. It’s been about 2 hours and the install bar isn’t even 1/10th full yet.

Is this normal? Any workarounds? Thanks.

Completely normal, because the game is 51 GB's. It might just say "installing", but it's a combination of downloading and installing.

Go to your PS4 home menu, then notifications, then downloads. You'll see the download progress there, and you won't be able to play the full game until it's completed.

Says 19 hours left. Ughh.

It’s the first time I bought a game digitally. Does that make it install/download longer then off disk?

Yeah it does, unless you have some kind of godlike internet connection speed. I find digital best for pre-loading purposes where you can download the game before a release date and it's ready to play the moment a game launches. It's a long wait if you just download a game and it has to fully install/download before you can play it.

In the meantime, you can play the Dodgers vs Astros game as many times as you want (although the download will go faster if you aren't playing a game and just let the system idle).
