    MLB Managers 2018

    Hey All

Really quick question. My game doesn't seem to have some new Managers such as Aaron Boone, Kapler etc. as managers for their teams.

Do I need to update my roster or will they just not feature at all on this edition of The Show?

Did the same thing happen in MLB 17 with the new managers last season?

Would appreciate any help somebody could give on it.

    Many Thanks!

If a manager isn't in the game, he probably wasn't approved in time. They don't get updated either.

Thanks for the quick response. That's a shame. I brought the prerelease and thought they were gonna be included in an update after the general release happened. Thanks for the info man!

Seems odd that they wouldn't include the new managers... or update it. It isn't like the names aren't in the game (separately of course)... I mean, you can name a RttS player Aaron Boone... so why not just patch it...

I don't think that have the rights to them..even some coaches and managers that have been with the team for years are not always in the game...I still would like them to add bench coaches or be able to edit your coaches...I do not know why that cannot be done seems like something that might take an hour or two of development time....

Some managers get patched in later, which was the case with some new managers last year. I guess it depends on whether or not they got a face scan and agreed to be in the game during spring training.

That's interesting and thank you. How long did it take last time? If you remember that is!

Buddy Black became the manager of the Colorado Rockies prior to the start of the 2017 season, but he did not appear in this game until this year in MLB 18. For MLB 17 it was some generic dude who neither looked like Black nor his predecessor Walt Weiss. Not saying managers have never been included in a patch because I have not paid close attention to every manager in the game. But for the ones I was aware of, I always needed to wait until the following year before they showed up in the game. And then there could be the case where they don't want to be in the game? Not aware of this in baseball, but for football Darth Vadar (Bill Belichick) has always refused to be in the Madden series.

If you are in a franchise does the patch update an already existing franchise? Or would you have to start all over again? I don’t want to start a franchise, get a month into it, only to have to restart it just to have Alex Cora in the game.

Belichick isn’t in Madden because he’s not a member of the NFL Coaches Association.

I wouldnt worry about Kapler not being in.
He'll probably be gone by the time the first phase hits.
But that Tim Monk on the other hand, he's a real keeper lol

Thanks all and a real shame. Boone and the guys would have been good to start the Franchise Mode with. Will have to either wait for an update or just pick a team with somebody in place already. Will see if there's any answers from the creators and report back if anything comes from it

Wondering if anyone else may have noticed this, during one of the first few games of my Tiger's franchise, I heard Vasgersian refer to the manager as Gardenhire. He's not in the game so I found that a bit odd, I don't think it's happened again since, I have been skipping past the opening game sequences, though.

Same thing happened with Ron Washington a few years ago when he was Oakland's 3rd base coach. He wasn't in the game but was included in the commentary.

Any answer on the patched in coaches and existing franchises? I'm assuming no
