Is SDS able to change players names mid-season?

Felipe Rivera changed his name to Felipe Vasquez.

I was just going to post this. He made it official and plans to change his jersey name very soon.

Is he face scanned in the game or more of a sds CAP? If he doesn't have a face scan they might be more willing to overwrite him with an importable/exportable version of Rivero/Vasquez. So it is definitely very doable.

This is the first year he has a face scan. It would be really cool if they can get his name changed. But I’m sure they will wait until he changes his jersey name in real life (which he said will be soon, pirates are working on it)

I didn't know he changed it from Felipe Rivero to Felipe Rivera either

I don't remember, but did they change Yolmer Sanchez's name last year? The only time I remember them changing a players name was Giancarlo Stanton when he changed it from Mike. When they did that he became a CAP.
