Equipment locked?

I tried changing Gleyber Torres from the OSFM roster to a chin guard on his helmet and it won't let me. It appears to be locked. Is this a glitch in the game? Last time I checked create a players weren't supposed to have equipment locked...

Re: Equipment locked?

He has to be on the major league roster to add a chin guard due to the helmet type.

I added him to the MLB roster. This is in exhibition mode, not Franchise.

He has to have a protective helmet. If he has any other style other than protective you cannot apply the chin guard. You'll have to transfer his face to a generic player or create him from scratch. Also could wait for him to be added via roster update.

All you have to do is add him to the MLB roster and then change his helmet so you can put the chin guard on it.

This is true, but his helmet style has be protective. If it's not protective it won't matter if you add him to the MLB roster he can't be given a chin guard the option will be locked.

Re: Equipment locked?

Here is a couple nice reads if anyone wants to read them concerning the C-FLAP helmets.

I myself also would like to be able to give any player the C-FLAP helmet in MLB or minors without having to remake them from scratch.

https://www.baseballamerica.com/stor...minor-leagues/

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2...faces-all-star

"The Brewers are leading the charge at the minor league level. They are the first team to order C-flaps for all their minor leaguers. They will likely be followed by other teams".

Catch a Brewers' Class A game this year and you may wonder if the Brewers' hitters are some of the unluckiest players around.

Player after player will step to the plate with a batting helmet that sports a C-flap—an additional bit of protection on the batting helmet that stretches to cover a hitter’s cheek and jawbone. Normally, hitters wear the C-flap after they've returned from a serious facial injury.

The extra protection helps ensure that an injury player doesn’t suffer a follow-up injury.

But the Brewers hitters haven’t been hit by an epidemic of bean-balls. They are wearing them as a preventative measure.

This year, the Brewers have strongly suggested to all of their minor league hitters that they wear the C-flap. For all Brewers hitters from high Class A and lower, it will be mandated.
