Man I love how this game simulates/replicates the ebb and flow, ups and downs, of a baseball season.

In a 3 game series against the Phillies we were knocking the cover off the ball. Homeruns, doubles, and triples galore. 3 game series against the Brewers and we are struggling to get a simple single. First game against the Reds of a 3 game series and we only manage 4 hits. Game 2 we hit 2 grand slams in the same game.

Man I love baseball and MLB The Show '18 does a phenomenal job of replicating/simulating the sport that I so dearly adore.

Completely agree. The word 'amaze' is accurate. I have had the same thing happen. I started this franchise absolutely crushing line drives, but literally 70% of them turned into outs (usually that would be closer to 70% base hits). I was hitting line drives right at people. I knew those line drives would eventually turn into hits so, although very frustrating, i was still happy with how i played even though i was losing. (Frustratingly satisfying). Then, it got to where i couldn't hit hard line drives, but i got lucky and had a lot of bloop hits just clear the infield and i racked up hits and won some games. Then I got one-hit a few days later. Then, i had games where i was getting so many hard hits i almost felt sorry for the pitcher lol.

The ups and downs are so true to the real game, i dont know how they create something like this honestly. I have loved the Show for years, but this year's batted ball variety and game flow take the realism cake by far. Each game takes on a different distinct personality just like real life.

I cant wait to play tonight.

I had a complete game shut out (3 hits) with Chris Sale against the Rays. Next game David Price gave up 5 runs in the first 2 innings then his replacement Steven Wright gave up another 2 in the 4th. Luckily I was matching them on offence with JD hitting a oppo grand slam with how good the hitting is after patch 1.10.

Tied 7-7 coming into 6th I spent a good 5 minutes trying to decide whether to try and squeeze another inning out of Steven Wright against the top of the order. In the end went with Matt Barnes who had a quick 1,2,3 inning. The drama then continued with CJ Cron and Hanley of all people trading Home Runs. I managed to lock down the win with Kimbrel in the 9th but sweated on every ball. Red Sox 12 runs 12 hits, Rays 9 runs 16 hits!

It was the most amazing game I have ever had in years playing the Show. Your right about the game replicating real life only trouble is I feel like I am aging like a MLB manager!

Hit my 95th hour in franchise mode this cycle. Almost at 100 hours. And this game is still simply fantastic.

In a 3 game skid in my 2017 Year 2 Yankees franchise. Looking to snap that tonight vs The Rays. The AL East is very tight as I hold on to a 1.0 game lead over the Red Sox, 3.5 over the Blue Jays, and 5 over the Orioles and Rays.
