Agreed. It's not like there's no negativity on Twitter or Facebook...

And, honestly, the "haters" here are pretty tame compared to other communities/forums I've been a part of. Heck, the steam forums for games I play/own there put OS to shame in terms of "haters" and other negativity. And some (most?) of those game are made by small/indy/whatever-term-for-not-major-developers with smaller fanbases and audiences.

And most of the good criticism is on the opposite end of that, so it's not really hard to tell them apart.

Re: Where has Ramone Russell gone?

Some good posts in here. Lots of people seem to be speculating on what Ramone's job is and I'm pretty sure he knows better than anyone, lol. I think he does a pretty good job being the "face" for this game and trying to be in many places at once (especially before and near launch). But, I really doubt the notion that Ramone is some sort of tinkerbell that goes away when people are mean toward the game. That notion is just feeding into a certain narrative that some OS'ers hold on to more than anything. More likely, their corporate policies have changed (see kehlis' post early in this thread) to minimize certain interactions or they are prioritizing Twitter, Facebook, Twitch and other larger outreach platforms over niche places like OS (we are always told by someone how OS is just a tiny tiny part of the community at large).

I can’t stand keyboard warriors as much as anyone but if you can’t take criticism and arent able to zone out the negativity then you are in the wrong business.

Having seen how Ramone has been in the past I really don’t think he’s the “take my ball and go home” kinda guy.

Honestly I refuse to even think that that’s the reason because it empowers the idiots.

I agree about Ramone personally not being that type, but the people above him can certainly "take his ball away" if they decide that the social interaction (and the accompanying threats and hate that go with it) isn't worth dealing with anymore. And I'm of the opinion that that's exactly what happened.

Not necessarily local to OS - I mean all of the social interactions here, twitter, Show Nation - I feel like they were told to dial all of it back.

Re: Where has Ramone Russell gone?

FWIW, I did try to go back through his twitter history to see if I can find the tweet I thought I remembered reading and couldn't. I'm fairly certain is was said somewhere (maybe a twitch stream) but it either wasn't on twitter or the tweet was deleted.

He's most definitely NOT afraid of criticism. He's been very open to it in the past. As others have eluded to, there is something else causing this.

There are other SDS team members "active" on here - Woodweaver, Adam_SDS, etc. Ramone probably has other things to focus on and reading 3rd party forum web sites is probably not one of them any longer. The torch was passed.

OS does the best that it can to protect its devs but I dont think people understand how taxing having people trash your product (for some legitimate but mostly trivial reasons) is. He gets paid whether he comes on OS or not and given that he can still read the feedback without interacting, it may be a blessing for him that Sony is restricting his interaction.
There is an easy way to stop that. Stop putting out a product that has so many problems. It's a stone cold fact that these guys arent baseball guys and know nothing about the game. We can expect the same type of game until there is a fresh team with actual baseball knowledge put in place.

They have the market cornered, but instead of having pride in putting out the most realistic game possible, the only care is about how many units they can push. No better than the Madden team at this point.

Truth. Its pretty bad the tone and stance he has taken against members in the past, but if that tone was taken with him people were banned.

I would absolutely love to sit down face to face with these guys and make them explain themselves so they couldnt just turn off their computer and run away from answering questions.
