Releasing, cutting players in Roster Control?

Is there not any way to just cut layers entirely to Free Agents when preparing your own rosters? I haven't played The Show in a couple of years. But I'm fairly certain you could release a player outright.

You have to add someone else to the roster. Every team has to have 90 players in their organisation. You can however just flat out release players in franchise.

Ok, just messing around with mock franchises because it's been a while and was trying to find easy ways to cut players when doing my preliminary updates to the rosters. Where the hell did season mode go? Oh well...

I guess it still works to cut everything but 25 players on your 40-man for the CPU to not move anyone around. CPU still moves players around in the minors apparently but since I only use the minors as a more easy to navigate free agent and bench repository I don't really care. Wish there was a way to create players DURING franchise mode in case I need to make an important rookie later. Anyone know how many CAPs are the limit?
