CPU Fielding Logic can kinda suck

Just played a RTTS game where I was on third, with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th in a tied game.. Infield in, thats good. What WAS NOT GOOD, was that after my teammate batter hit a grounder to first, the first baseman RUNS TO FIRST TO GET THE OUT, allowing me to score the walk off uncontested. Like WTF? If he made the correct play i was 90% likely to be out. And todays the first day in at least 2-3 weeks of playing this game.

Needless to say, might be putting this game off for awhile longer.

if this happens all the time that would stink but if its a one off, chalk it up to a player with low awareness, and/or he thought you wouldn't dare risk running with only one out.

Did you start back to third and then run home or did you pause and then go home?

Just curious if you did anything to make him think you weren't going and then took off when he ran towards first??

I made a bat-first 1st baseman, and ran as soon as I saw the ball hit the ground. If I paused until he turned, he would've had the ball at home with me only 3/5 down the line.

Re: CPU Fielding Logic can kinda suck

What made you decide to run if you thought you should have been an easy out at the plate?

Bad baserunning logic?

If that's the case, maybe SDS did pretty good by making the CPU logic susceptible to as poor as human logic can sometimes be.

Which is no small feat.

EDIT: unless I'm misunderstanding the reason to run

There was 1 out and I didnt trust the next guy to get a hit (im the 3 hitter) so 5 was up with 6 on deck (AA game). If I didnt run it becomes 2 out and we need a hit, so I was being extra aggressive. Regardless, how does the guy run immediately to first, like not even looking at the runner??
