I think they'll go with a pitcher this year....my prediction is Jacob DeGrom of the Mets. Blake Snell of the Rays is a good candidate as well.

Blake will be hurt by the fact he plays for Tampa. His talent makes him deserving but I don't think they want to put someone on a team that doesn't draw and is struggling on the cover. But what he did for a bad team should have him strong consideration no doubt.

Homer pick: Khris Davis. HR leader, overall cool dude, and would be nice to get some A's colors on the cover.

Realistic pick: Yelich or Betts. Yelich because of the overall hype and Betts because of the Boston link.

Wildcard pick: Alex Bregman. Not sure how wild this is, really, but he's got a lot of personality.
