I bought a PS3 specifically for this game back in 2009 and have bought it every since, but I too might not be getting it this year for the same reason you mentioned.
As someone who doesn't play online, I feel like Franchise Mode has been grossly neglected as of recent years. It's gotten to the point where I don't even have the ability to sign FA and can never find an actual fix for it.

Disappointing that this is the only major sports game that isn't on the PC and it's probably the best one out there.

I will not buy this year either without substantial improvements to franchise mode.
The mode has been relatively unchanged for years with many same legacy issues. I can download new rosters and get my baseball fix.

What exactly is their decision making process for this? I mean, do they decide on the athlete in March? Because nothing Bryce did this year is cover athlete worthy in my opinion. If we’re giving it to players on teams who missed the postseason, why hasn’t the best player in baseball graced the cover yet? Give me Mike Trout! Should have been Betts, Trout, or Yelich.
