So what makes more sense? Cater to the hardcore gamers who want 100% reality or to the casual gamer who wants to have fun?

So you're first question to that should be why not both? So that is what they try to do. But in the end if you have to make a choice, because you cant make every one happy, you are going to choose the group that has the most amount of consumers. that way you only anger the small group.

I dont know which group that is, but I can make an educated guess based on the direction I have seen this game go.

I was playing last night and thought "they no longer have the on this date in history feature" anymore. I just don't understand why in the world they had great stuff like that and warm up pitches before the game and then would take them out. Like everything else there should be the option to have it or not have it.

If someone wants to have a batter walk up for every batter, me personally, I think it's a bit too much, but then more power to them. The option to turn it on or off should be there.

I've never seen it on this year's game and I play a crap ton of games. I watch nearly all the cut scenes too.

I've seen it a few times.

Next time it pops up I'll try to take a pic or video of it.

The key word is "toggle".

I personally appreciate the total immersion into what I perceive as a real-life experience which includes a heavy does of baseball's nuances. If the Show is to be the only game in town, I want and demand the nuances; or at least the choice to toggle them on.

It's hard to argue against the desire of choice for a consumer.

If they were trying to do both, we'd have a choice in the main menu of simulation or arcade style gameplay.

I just mentioned a way to make a lot more people happy. It isn't rocket science or innovative. It's been done before in games a decade ago.

I wouldn't want to anger any section of my customers.
