Second thing I did with the roster was removed a lot of the Triple A / Double A players that are just depth guys and put every teams Top 30 prospects on the roster. Double A teams are basically prospect teams and it's fun to see whose winning those leagues.

Thanks for all you do! I know you're working on the 2019 set. Once that's complete I'll be bugging you for some ratings again for guys who didn't make it to the Hybrid Set!

We like to get as many prospects as possible, but we try to get most, if not all, of the upper level guys. That's where roster limits hurt.

Can you expand on how well the 70% salary works for your franchise? We may tweak contracts slightly.

I'm going off the top of my head since I don't have my information in front of me. I'll double check tonight though

Example of Chris Davis since I'm the Orioles

2018 contract = 105 million ÷ 5 years = 21 million per year

What I did was 105 million x .80 = 84 million

84 millions ÷ 5 years = 16.8 million per year

Example of Miguel Cabera .

2018 contract = 184 million ÷ 6 years = 30.6 million per year

What I did was 184 million x .80 = 147.2 million

147.2 millions ÷ 6 years = 24.5 million per year

Doing this allowed for teams to have somewhat a resemblance to their IRL payroll. Makes those guys hard to trade in game.

For arbitration guys I wouldn't touch unless they had a huge payroll increase such as Nolan Arenado and Josh Donaldson. The reason of not changing all those players was personal time doing every player and those players get new contracts every year. So the first year not having 100% correct contract didn't bother me.

For player options I would decide if a player was most likely to accept their options then I added years. I.e. Johnny Cueto, Elvis Andrus

Then if they we're likely to test the market take out player option. I.e. Clayton Kershaw.

Team options I would usually follow same roles as Player Options.

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature

In the 5 seasons I have completed since '16 the National League has won all 5 World Series and the American League has won every All-Star game.

World Series winners:

2016 - Dodgers def Blue Jays
2017 - Dodgers def Rays
2018 - Dodgers def Blue Jays
2019 - Dodgers def Astros
2020 - Marlins def Orioles

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature

Something else that I'd like to point out is that in my 5 completed seasons, neither the Yankees nor the Red Sox have made the playoffs

Interesting. I've kept track as well. In my 8 years it's been:

2014 - Angels def Nationals
2015 - Braves def Indians
2016 - Dodgers def Indians
2017 - Dodgers def Mariners
2018 - Cubs (me) def Mariners
2019 - Rays def Diamondbacks
2020 - Rockies def Yankees
2021 - Cubs def Angels

Multiple teams have played in multiple World Series. With several smaller market teams building yearly contenders and out playing the big boys.

In 2021 the top 4 teams in payroll were:
1) Dodgers
2) Yankees
3) Tigers
4) Cubs

Out of those 4 only the us and the Yankees made the playoffs with Detroit having the worst record in the league.

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature

now if anyone can work out how to skip a year so that 2019 season starts so players age 1 year and rookies from 2018 are not rookies in 2019 anymore.. then their won't be much of a point to buy the show 2019 for most people.

I wish there was a way to do this.

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature

I like the feature, but I haven't really used it since the first year it came out unfortunately removed some real players with generic ones. I'd rather continue my saves on their current year than lose real players down the line (especially in RTTS where you can't edit players).
