Uhhh...yeah that's not for me at all. Looks like there's gonna be a lot of disappointed people who thought Season Mode was being rebranded. I just hope that field reporter is also in franchise mode. That's my main takeaway.

Ewww, that’s an anticlimax. Imagine if they’d spent all that time putting those nice overlays and slick new features into the franchise mode they already have. Of the people who wanted season mode back, I wonder how many wanted THIS?

Like who asked for this, literally? Who sat there and said they wanted anything like this? Cause it sure as hell hasn’t shown up anywhere I’ve ever seen discussions for this game.

Quit trying to make baseball something it is not! If you don’t believe you can sell the product of baseball and it’s gameplay and season then maybe you should make some other kind of game.

Nothing feels more fake and rushed to me than to play an inning of a game, do well or do poorly and then have that impact how the next handful of simulated games go. If this is the direction this franchise is heading then maybe it is time for me to abandon ship. Putting time into stuff like this with all of the other glaring issues and omissions. No thank you.

Horrible, simply horrible.

I love playing every game. I can suck at one game and deliver the next.
Sweeping series, winning the rubber game or just getting 1 out of 3 or 4, keeping me in the race for the pennant.

That is what i like doing, so i will continue to play franchise. I'm now used to the fact that we don't have season mode anymore.
I play franchise with everything turned to auto, and it's fine for what i want.

This new mode is - for me - a complete waste of time and resources.
I assume this is their way to get some casual players to play a season in this way?
No idea what they were thinking, but i'm clearly not the person they target their game to. I accept that and still enjoy the game for what it is.

Hope they will continue to improve the gameplay aspect, as i'm fine to continue to play franchise with classic rosters. Once that is gone (which i don't think will happen) i'm gone too.

It’s just the Moments mode in a season mode.

I would assume their data shows a lot of franchise players start but never finish a season so they probably think this will help.

I’ll stick with franchise mode though.

I might think this was a cool addition if I were a junior high kid or younger who didn't have the attention span for an in-depth franchise mode. I don't mean that to sound insulting. Kids play games, too, and I'll never fault developers for making stuff targeted at them.

I don't know what other audience this would appeal to, though. You could already replicate a lot of what this seems to offer in a regular franchise mode if you choose to sim.

As a franchise guy it's not for me, But I can see how it would appeal to some. Unfortunately, those of us who love the grind of playing every pitch of every inning are in the minority and it seems a dying breed. Hopefully on Thursday we will be pleasantly surprised but I'm not holding my breath. Not a huge deal to me, I'll just keep playing 18.

Can almost guarantee this lasts one game and is taken out next time.

I can see people playing it. Casual baseball gamers so dont think it's the worst mode ever but like a broken record, it's depressing as a Franchise player if they haven't added anything there and spent time on this.

One positive was the female broadcaster shown. Hopefully thats added to Franchise and breaks up the commentary a bit.

TELEMETRY DATA, is killing this game. SDS absolute reliance on this data has made for some dumb decisions. I'm sure other sports games collect data and finds ways to improve the experience to engage the user. SDS, takes this data and think make it faster, which is the antithesis of baseball. They take a phrase, synonymous with a playoff push and make it a sim fest, instead part of "PHASES" in franchise. A phase that could have had presentation and commentary package. The same way they added commentary late to last years game.

Oh my God...brutal. Stop reinventing the wheel. Couldn't people do the same thing is a regular season mode by selecting whatever games they want...and simming the rest? Some people want to play 162...others once a week...others once a month. Who cares? They had it right 2 years ago. Season mode and you select how many and which games you want to play. Easy peasy.
