It is nice to hear someone actually say that Franchise mode is not being set to the side in the development plan. We, as a community, can speculate, discuss and argue until the proverbial cows come home. Sure we would like things to be added quicker. But for me I am happy and satisfied to just "hear" we aren't being left behind.

Consider me surprised by the point that RTTS is the most played mode. I knew more people played it than this forum gives credit for, but more than DD? Wow.

Also I didn't know John and Lick were related (although I had considered that possibility)!

Well, not much was said, really. With that there will be a lot of speculation of what not was said, and what we think he should say.

This is a solid feedback article. There is a level of -- not entitlement, but maybe tunnel vision of folks here who think they represent the majority of Show players by a wide margin, but it would seem reasonable that a fair amount of players who only or mostly play RTTS (I mean, the mode is RIGHT* in the title for 13 years now) or DD. And I would imagine that SDS has more accurate data (as in accurate, hard, quantifiable numbers) than whatever an OS'er probably drew up in their head. It's SDS's responsibility to cast as wide a net as possible with their audience with the various modes they offer, and that they cater to more players than just the ones like me who also run OOTP decades-long simulations. It's OK if one person says "they got rid of online franchise" or "they're not doing enough in Franchise" if they can get two players to say "Hey, they have an Ultimate Team mode" or "Hey, this is a good way to play through a quicker 162-game season".
It would be nice if they could include things like three-ways or cap relief in trades (please?) but the point is that they do not have to specifically cater to YOU. They have to cater to an entire audience made of players who focus on other modes or may not be as hardcore as folks who play on manual injuries to mirror the real work (again, like me). If that's not your bag, that's fine, you don't have to play or pay for it, that's buyer's choice and it's great. But a lot of people take it personally when SDS doesn't cater to their every whim and, to be perfectly blunt, their needs and audience extend way above than just you and me.

A majority of your players do play franchise mode and you haven't done much to improve this game mode for a while now. We have asked for improvements and additions only to be turned away and disappointed. You have alienated a percentage of your fan base, and it will show when it comes to sales of MLB 19. I have already switched over to OOTP for my baseball fix this year, so have many of my friends.. SDS you can kiss my ***! Come back when you've made some changes that are worth my time, effort and money.

I wonder who initiated this interview, if it was SDS the fact they're reacting to what is being said on here and elsewhere on social media before the game is released is a positive sign.

I've played more hours worth of '18 than I dare to contemplate so it's been a strange experience for me not to be overwhelmingly positive about '19, but that's down to one thing only - my disappointment that franchise hasn't evolved and so few additions that we've thrown around on here for the last 12 months have been added.

Seeing as the screenshot included in the article shows a players profile screen, one thing they could immediately do to keep me happy is remove that 'Twitter' page from the profile. In franchise I have a player who has been traded to Miami but his real life Twitter feed in his bio is updating me with his spring training exploits in Boston. It's completely out of context and completely takes me out of my virtual reality space. Half of the players I've checked don't even have Twitter posts making it even more irrelevant.

I respect SDS for MLBTS '18 which I have enjoyed immensely and hope that when they start roadmapping for '20 which they will do in a matter of weeks, they prioritise franchise mode.
