I am so pumped for all these changes. I know there's a huge contingent for franchise mode around here but I got drawn into DD big time last year and it sounds like every annoying issue has been addressed in spades.

Same. My head almost exploded when they just casually showed he was in the game. By far my favorite player of all time. Only made it as high as Championship Series in the past but I'm coming guns blazing as soon as the game drops for WS to get that card.

This isn’t a slight against anyone who really enjoys DD but I just can’t seem to wrap my head around it. All these changes look super cool but every year I try and get into it I just can’t. I guess I’m just old.

Haha well I'm 42 for what it's worth. I just came to terms that I was in fact, playing a video game and that trying to emulate an entire season or franchise was just an extension of real life. DD embodies the impossible and "what ifs" that only a video game can offer so I went all in. A lot less stressful than worrying about at what version OSFM rosters do I actually start playing lol

I also have a hard time wrapping my head around card collecting in games. Why not just . . . collect cards in real life? To each his own I guess...

I enjoy playing DD from time to time. I’ll play a franchise game them maybe jump to DD to try an beat a player specific mission and that keeps it fresh for me.
This year I might use Moments the same way.

Don't blame age. I am 54 and enjoy DD, although only offline.

I love collecting stuff, so DD always interested me. The fact that it is by far the best mode on the game helps as well (in terms of how well developed, polished and supported it is).

It does seem to be trending in a direction I'm not thrilled about though, as an offline player who like to collect things. No mention yet of any reason to play 9 inning offline games and the collecting aspect is being spoilt a bit by the thousands of flashback and legend cards. It's trending towards fantasy game instead of card collection. (which is fine, but just not my thing really)

Collecting the live series players used to be great, as the players themselves were great and the rewards for doing it were great. Now the Live Series players are mediocre and the team collection rewards are pretty terrible, with even the division collection rewards looking a bit meh (that Joey Bats card that's been in the game for years and never been really used for getting the entire AL East? No thanks)

It's less about that (although it certain makes it more novel) but more of a way to shake up online matches with personal customization, rather than every online match basically boiling down to players only picking the 2-3 best teams.*

I'm glad they're expanding ways to get the best cards, because while I like DD, I can't tear myself away from Franchise long enough to grind out the 99 cards in past years.
