Did it again. I have him roughly at $36.6 million in surplus. Must've looked at last years surplus!

(2.5x6)+(3x3)+(3.5x1)

27.5

2.8x9x2

50.4 - 5.8 - 8

36.6

Yea this was my thought as well, but the formulas value him a lot. Hence why I’m torn to trade him. Don’t want to accept a lotto ticket if I can get more!

That makes more sense. So what type of prospect can I pry from the Giants? What range of prospect would be realistic for me to look?

Giants are rebuilding. I don’t see them wanting him

According to MLBTR, the Giants and Jays are actively discussing trade scenarios involving Pillar so they must have interest.

Sup guys, love this thread every year. Going into my Red Sox franchise who are some realistic targets to go after as far as getting a left hander in the bullpen?

I moved him for Sandro Fabian, Ryan Howard and a AAAA type pitcher (can't remember who, but they were essentially a lotto ticket).

I didn't want to use the $36-ish mil surplus on him because a)his defense declined last year, and b)he's always been a league average or worse offensive player.

Dont really recommend this as that's the whole point this thread is here...

And for up above with the Red Sox quest for a left handed reliever.

Brian Duensing was released by the Cubs, no prospects just cash for him.

Might be able to pry Will Smith from the Giants.

Not really thinking of any other teams that have decent options that would be available this early on in the season...I'll keep thinking!
