USE 30 TEAM CONTROL

Every year I see so many posts complaining about FA and trade logic. This is broken, that is broken, etc.

It’s not broken, it just doesn’t do a great job of replicating real life baseball. An impossible task by the way, especially with how fast things are changing on and off the field.

No version of video game baseball will ever get it correct enough for the detail oriented players here, me being one of them. So my advice is to stop expecting MLBTS to get it right. It will never happen.

They’ve given us 30 team control for a reason. It’s possible to control 99% of what teams do. Don’t be intimidated... it’s EASY... and you can spend as much or as little extra time controlling the league as you want. At the very least it gives you the chance to fix mistakes and keep things realistic.

If you’re that concerned about the Rays or Pirates budget staying low for the entirety of your Franchise... use 30 team control and make it happen!! It is THE BEST way to enjoy your Franchise universe!!

I feel like I just read the script for an infomercial that plays on tv in the wee hours of the morning.

Only thing missing was, "But wait there's more!"

In 17 I have two profiles, one for the Yankees and one for everyone else; I control 40 man rosters for all (set to manual) and since with carryover from 14 in 17 I can still veto trades (I understand that this option has been lost). I start a season with trades set to manual, then as I get nearer the deadline I turn trades on for the second profile, but also make manual trades that make sense. Last year the Jays won the WS; it made no sense to trade Osuna, so I didn't. Sometimes the computer will try to make a trade, most times I control them all though. Then as the season is drawing to a close, I take control of contender's lineups and rotation to make sure they don't start rotating out their hot hitting lower rated shortstop just because a one point higher rated guy comes off the DL (IL) but who hasn't produced all year. Oh, and now I know how to make sure that I get a complement of playoff eligible players. It really doesn't take alot to do if you set things to CPU control but you know you can go in and make changes or change the profile of a team that keeps putting in the wrong players or lineups. The biggest issue now is that they took out the trade delay from what I understand, so you don't have the ability nix trades the CPU chooses to do like we had a few years ago. But if you set that to manual, and make trades yourself that seem logical and more in line with what a non-broke CPU trading logic would look like, you'd be fine. 30 team control really doesn't take alot of time to handle if you're not planning to do every thing each game with each team.

and if you act now, we'll throw in another 30 team control option absolutely free; that's 60 teams to control for the low low prices of 60 dollars. That's a dollar a day. And you'll get the handsome disc carrying case, free hip hop music from artists that may one day be famous (or may be famous now, I wouldn't know) and all the simulated baseball you can get when you're up this late because real players are now home asleep and not on the field. That's over a 100 dollar value, but act now, supplies and jokes are limited.

I've had to go this route this year because of the trade bug when using custom rosters in franchise. I'm guessing theyll patch that soon enough, but I was itching to start my franchise .

Any tips on how to actually get into the season without having the CPU redo all the 25 man rosters? Even with CPU control for all teams, when I skip spring and start the regular season, the rosters are all messed up. How the heck do I start opening day with the rosters that are set when I start the franchise.
