also, I like the quickness of games with QC on but you just cant get the real feel of discipline IMO when starting every at bat with an 0-0 count. I much prefer pitching to hitting but at its essence, for me, discipline is the secret ingredient to making hitting the most fun (& rewarding) in baseball video games. Of course, being a pitcher first and foremost, nothing grinds my gears more than hitters with great discipline.

Me too. Pitching is fun, hitting is stressful. It doesnt have to stay that way for you. Pick a location and a timing. You're in control. You just dont know it yet. You will. Keep trying.

In any event, let's move on from the ugliness and back to discussion.

I'm overcoming some personal things myself. Started medication 2 days ago myself. I'm sorry for your situation. Really, I am. I'm a little on edge myself. Respect.

Re: Thru 40 games we lead the majors in walks drawn

Just adding to the topic of walks and stats in general, I too feel default HOF-to-Legend there are too many walks. What's more, there are too little Ks for both me and the CPU and the running game just has no real world logic. Well, there's a lot of real world logic missing.

What bugs me more is that once a team opens the scoring, the other team comes right back in the next half inning. Every darn time whether it's me or the CPU.

I think whatever their doing with their online racket is leaking too much into their offline modes. That, and they really don't care about perfecting the offline sim aspect.

I think I'm just about done for this year. I wish I could get into something other type of games, but everything seems to be a racket or designed for simple people.

The major league team average right now is

8.7 strikeouts per game

3.2 walks per game

I going to venture a guess that my stats at least, for all 30 teams in franchise, are very similar to those numbers

Following up.

My stats for all 30 teams within franchise mode (average 48 games)

3.38 walks per game (162 is average number of walks)

8.19 strikeouts per game (393 is average number of strikeouts)

This is using default Legend, meter pitching and zone hitting.

Pretty spot on I'd say.

in the other teams cpu vs cpu games ( which is going to be the great majority) I'd expect to see walks close to IRL averages but to get walks right in playrd games you really got to be on your toes to get that. I want to replicate early 1980's strikeout numbers (a little above 5 ks per game.) I wonder what I'd need to do to achieve that.

Well that doesn't fit with the popular narrative that this game is broken and you HAVE to use sliders to make it play right.
