That first to home back to first double play was pretty sweet!

Really excited for the improvements to outfield defense. Super hoping that the differences in defense between diamond, gold, bronze, and common fielders are more evident then ever.

The extended gameplay reveal trailer video said something along the lines of "no more hiding that poor fielding power hitter in left field anymore"!

This will be great news, and really make you think when building a squad for online play!

@countryboy Yeah, I'm trying to remember exactly what happens in the current game on that same play. It looked MUCH more urgent of a throw from first base, but I'm also wondering if the other side of that play was to show the first baseman hustling over to cover first base for the return throw from the catcher. Was this an instance of the pitcher would end up rushing over to first to cover instead of the first baseman (in the current game)?

I believe its possible in '19, but honestly I haven't attempted this type of double play in quite a while.

But I believe this was to show the new defensive mechanics/animations for first basemen and I do agree that seeing it in the trailer, it looked to have more urgency than what we have currently.

Really looking forward to the livestream on Thursday.

Wow, that video was annoying and gimmicky as hell.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Trailer - Gameplay Engine & AI Updates

Still only one uniform template, saw buttons on the Cubs blue throwbacks.

Didn’t see any new tag animations. Same tired home plate slides and tags.

Can’t tell what’s different about the throw meter. Looks the same. Have to take their word and see what they say on Thursday about it.

Wondering how the control will be with the stutter steps and happy feet outfielders. Not a huge fan of more graphics on the screen during game play in that fielding icon. But will see how it all works out.

No new cameras. I hate how far back and high the cameras are after the ball has been put into play. I miss the low camera angle for fielding and post contact.

Hoping they’ve done something with pickoffs and leads from bases. That part of the game is ugly and old.

Button accuracy throw meter green zone is a bit smaller across the board. It's also harder to hit green every time bc the speed of the moving meter has been increased (both of these are dependent on the quality of the fielder).
