Looking for MLB Show opinions

Hey everyone I need your help. The last MLB Show game I played was 10 on PS2.

Mainly cause I miss the old players. Griffey, Jeter, etc.

But over the years I found myself playing Madden, Hockey, NBA, etc.

I'm now ready to get back into some MLB the Show and need some opinions.

So here it is, what year do you think is the best MLB The Show year? I'm looking for a good Franchise Mode. Not a fan of Road to the Show at all.

I'm leaning towards MLB 17 right now but wanted to get some opinions.

Which one was the best so far?

My take is 19 is the best of the bunch. Which means 20 coming out next week will be a little bit better than 19. But I've had more fun with 19 than any of the previous installments of the Show and I am strictly a franchise mode player.

I'd honestly go with 19...they made SO many needed improvements to fielding and so on that really add a ton to realism. Also, 19 has real contracts in-game...so that also adds another piece to franchise.

Re: Looking for MLB Show opinions

Honestly, franchise mode itself has been pretty stagnant for a long time so there is little to chose between different versions on franchise alone. Graphically the game has barely change either. So it more comes down to the actual gameplay.

I'd personally probably go with 17, as it was a very decent game that holds up pretty well, plus it gives you the option to go to 19 at a later point if you decide you want to change it up. Going back from 19 to 17 would be harder to do I think and if you haven't played in a long time, then 17 would be more than good enough.

Re: Looking for MLB Show opinions

'19 is the best all around game available in the series. The gameplay in '19 is easily the best of the series ('20 may surpass it though) and as Josh mentioned it has the real contract values in the game for franchise, which '17 doesn't.

Personally as a huge fan of the series, '17 was my most least liked and in fact I stopped playing it and went back to '16 that year. '17 isn't a bad game, just I didn't like the way it felt out of the box and I didn't want to wait around for patches.

Now depending on what you're looking for in a franchise mode, '20 is offering up the ability to rebrand/relocate teams in franchise mode and has the real minor leaguers out of the box, although with '17, the OSFM rosters may still be available in the vault.

'20 will also incorporate the new 26 man rosters, the new injured list rules, the 2 way player rules, and the September call ups being 28 players instead of 40.

Also '20 is making some more changes to defense and gameplay in general which appear to be, and from a brief hands on with the BETA, very welcomed changes.

So short answer, if you can wait 2 weeks, I'd personally hold out for '20. If you are wanting to play now, knowing you can carryover to another installment later, I'd go with '19.

Going to echo everyone above and say 19. I won't rehash the details.

If you can wait a few weeks and it is an option for you, I would hold out for 20.

Pretty much everything you read from Josh and Country.

If you don't race through seasons, you can really get totally involved in the day to day grind of baseball. And you will see enough variations in game play to keep you going. The game play in 19 is better than each previous version so I can bet that 20 will be the same but probably a bit better on the field. Franchise off the field isn't amazing, but it's enough to keep me interested and it's better than previous versions.
