It’s the year 2037 in my franchise and my budget has dipped to 165 million per year. It has been as high as 225 million per year. We have won eight World Series titles. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Re: Budget
It's because the system doesn't use "real" contract values. When they put real contracts in they left the old system in place that values players. I have even seen this year the value to closers lower than previous years.
Top players get paid. Everyone else gets less in free agency than they do in arbitration years. I hope they patch it.

Re: Budget
How do we even know the budget we have available? In the budget screen I see only income and expenditures, then on the coaches screen I seen their total payments.Comment

Re: Budget
Team A
2020
Closer 12 million last year arbitration
RF 13 Million Last year arbitration
2b 15 million final year of deal
2021
Closer Free agent contract 5.5 mil year
RF 8 mil per year free agent contract
2b 5 mil per year contract
That played out over team roster is how the budget declines. The real contracts were never properly implemented. Logic for trades and contracts was never changed with it. It's the reason I never used real contracts when we could edit them ourselves.Comment

Does turning budgets off raise free agent salaries?

Re: Budget
I would love to see the player salary logic finally fixed along with the free agency popups displaying the wrong contract values.
Not to play back seat driver but, for the salary logic, they had functional system in place. If it’s anything like Fifa’s coding, it would be as simple as just increasing the expected values of all OVRs and positions to reflect modern contracts.Comment
