CPU 1st Inning Substitution Glitch

I'd like to revive this thread and see if there's a consensus on why this occurs.

In my franchise, I'm currently playing the Orioles who have Andrew Velazquez and Pat Valaika filling in against lefties on the lineup screen, yet both times I've played them with a lefty on the mound, they get subbed out the moment they hit the field in the 1st inning and get replaced by the guys they were subbing for.

Usually it’s because that player is playing a position that he doesn’t have as a primary or secondary position.
