    Crowd reaction

Why doesn’t the crowd this year react to plays on the field. I’ve noticed that they don’t really react to much during the middle innings. The first inning they do but their reactions drops off to nothing.
Be it a routine defensive out, or ripping a double in the gap there is no reaction

    Anyone notice this ?

    Re: Crowd reaction

One thing that's bugged the hell out of me since at least last year is the crowd's reaction to home runs. About as dead as a modern day WWE crowd. I just play without sound now or have it at the most faint of volumes. Why have audio on if a game tying home run at home in the 8th can barely register a heart beat?

Since they don't have any outstanding competition in the States, here's a comparison from outside:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oJt5q8kASzE?start=308" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I guess this video is a home run compilation from what I can gather, maybe showcasing the cut scenes you can get? I'm not sure, but it's home runs none the less.

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Op7paceGw2c" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Now here's the Show:

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/68CkUuhX-yc?start=340" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

As someone who's seen his fair share of home runs at Fenway, I can tell you, the entire stadium is rocking when someone hits one. This is terrible.

      Re: Crowd reaction

100% it’s so dead. The system on how they trigger crowd reaction has never been great but this year it’s awful.

The crowd should react to every ball hit in play and cheer if it drops in for a hit or while in flight during a no doubt double to the gap.

But I agree home runs feel DEAD

I think terrible is a pretty big overreaction (par for the course on OS)..... it’s not nearly as bad as u are making it out

That's fine, you're entitled to that opinion. I think it's terrible, at the very least I expect much better than what it currently is. I expect allot more from SDS. I'm sure you've been to a baseball game in real life, have the crowds you've been a part of been as dead as in that video when someone has hit a home run?

Ya it’s louder in real life for sure but to say it’s terrible is just being dramatic..... there’s situations it should be better but it’s not game breaking

Never said it was game breaking. It's immersion breaking, though. For a company that prides itself on realism by putting out the CoCa Cola sign in the left field of Oracle they don't do a good job with the crowd sitting in front of it. But we can agree to disagree on it being terrible, it's just 2 differing opinions on the matter, no more no less.

My opinion bro, I say its not good/borderline terrible if they don’t react to a game tying homer or walk off homer. If this works for u and makes u enjoy the game then cool, but for some it’s an immersion killer just like the homerun camera which I despise.

Competition is sorely needed IMO in the baseball space

I religiously implement SOTS so maybe that plays a role in why I’m not as adamant about where it’s at...... as u said to each their own

                    Re: Crowd reaction

At least the size of the crowd has gotten more realistic.I played an RTTS game a few years ago between the Cubs and White Sox in a very important game for at least one team with a week to go in the season (if not both-memory a little foggy).Anyways the crowd was about 5000.
I don't follow either team but I'm pretty sure that would never happen IRL.I haven't seen that issue for a while.
I find the crowd reaction better than it was for sure but could still use some improvement.
Commentary is my personal go to irritation.I could go on for pages with that...

                        Crowd reaction

My feeling is that the code is just full of bugs. I say that because it’s clear they’ve added dozens and dozens of different reactions over the years, and this year specifically I think the crowd is much better than it’s been, so it’s clear they’re working on it, it’s not some afterthought, but for whatever reason they can’t get them to fire properly, at least not all the time.

The one that gets me the most is when the home team hits into a double play or something, but the crowd reaction is a wild cheer, similar to what you hear after a diving stop on defense. Happens several times a game for me. There’s no way that’s intentional, and there’s no way they’d just leave it like that if they could fix it. It’s gotta be messy code.
                        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.
