I agree with you. I actually enjoy it.

Where is the option to turn this off in franchise?

But I also know the game isn't made for old farts like me, so I digress...
Yep, every year I like playing the 1989 NLCS. It was nice in the 8th when the Giants had Robby Thompson, Will Clark, and Kevin Mitchell coming up. I would risk Assenmacher against the righty Thompson, then it was great having him face Clark. Then I'd bring in Les Lancaster to face Mitchell, and then Matt Williams.

Just to see Mitch Williams blow it in the ninth.

Re: The 3 Batter Minimum Rule

I think it's perfectly reasonable to have the option to toggle this rule off as long as DH/no DH is given the same flexibility.

While I don't like the rule, that is not a MLB The Show choice. But the constant commentary about how these pitchers are "part of a dying breed" or "adjusting to the new normal" is... well, constant. It's basically every time a reliever formerly considered a specialist comes in.

Re: The 3 Batter Minimum Rule

I think instead of the 3 batter rule they should have just gone with the no warm up pitches rule. The relievers get as much time as they need in the bullpen, why do they need to throw 8 more pitches? As a former pitcher I know why, but when I was playing you were usually just pulled from shortstop and put in to pitch.

With no warm up pitches and a freaking clock on the mound visits and pitcher walk in, you should be able to knock down the time wasted even more than the 3 batter rule.

Sorry, but every other sport has timers so why doesn't baseball. I mean if you really want to speed it up.

Re: The 3 Batter Minimum Rule

MLB will never do what it takes to actually shorten games to back under 2 and a half hours (raise the mound back to pre-1970's heights and deaden the ball to reduce homers). they can do a hundred of the little things like 3 batter minimum and pitch clocks but this is like treating heart disease with a band-aid.

as for the Show, the batter minimum hasn't really affected me because I've always been old school and try to get at least 1 full inning out of all of my relievers. never was a fan of the one out guy and don't ''play the percentages'' with righty-lefty matchups. in fact, my own tendency is to only have 1 lefty reliever on my Show teams anyways.

its not really the fact of trying to speed the game up, its to limit the amount of "dead" time during the game, that's the core issue with these rule changes(i think anyways).
