Worth the Upgrade?

I have The Show 19 and looking for something to tie me over until Madden comes out. Just watching videos doesn’t look like much has changed since last year. Is it worth the upgrade?

Re: Worth the Upgrade?

Given that you already have '19, already don't see much change in videos, and are looking for a holdover until Madden drops in late August, I'm going to say you should pass.

Plenty of other games you can play through to get thru the next 6-7 weeks.

If you're looking for a sports/baseball game I'd recommend picking up Super Mega Baseball 3

Re: Worth the Upgrade?

I don’t own an MLB game and am also looking for something to keep me going until Madden 21.

I’m a franchise mode player, and wouldn’t mind exploring baseball since I don’t know very about it at all. I’ve heard good things about the franchise mode on The Show, but I’m not looking to spend £45 for two months worth of gaming. Is the mode deep enough to keep me interested once Madden comes out?

The show is what you make of it but it is deep enough to keep you invested. Managing the salary of 90 people, dealing with a lot of performance variance (even with high overalls) is a breath of fresh air, and the gameplay agaisnt the CPU is as good as it's ever been. If you do buy it, create stories for yourself to follow in franchise and immerse yourself. Relocation is limited, but fully custom teams are always fun to play with anyways.

Is there a substantial difference between 19 and 20?

‘20 is £45 on PSN and I can get a hard copy of ‘19 for £18.

Not really

* new roster rules
* 3 batter min
* ability to create two way players
* real minor leaguers

Those are the biggest changes. The cpu is better at roster management as well

Re: Worth the Upgrade?

Thanks for the replies! Going to download ‘20 today since I’ll probably keep playing until the end of the year at least when 2K and Fifa are released.

Looking forward to learning what a batter average and RBI are 😂😂

since you're not much on baseball you probably would be better off w/19 IMO

but, by the way, I believe if you do indeed do take an instant shine to the sport, I think you'll find it very deep, especially since it would be your first Show, maybe daunting even, deep enough to keep you going until 21 comes out
