Here we go again - Franchise Team

Recently back into the show after a brief hiatus. Have a lot of ideas of teams to roll with and really trying to avoid this problem of getting bored a few weeks into the schedule.

Braves - Probably my second favorite team behind the Tigers. Almost too good of a team though. Could be fun dominating and bringing them back to the days of my childhood with Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz. New ballpark, great uniforms.

Rays - Really like the make up of the team. Great pitching starters and relief. Position players could be perfect with a couple trades. Always like the idea of competing with the Yankees and BoSox. OK uniforms but terrible stadium.

Blue Jays - Again competing in the AL East. Amazing young infield, solid pitching. Great uniforms but again don’t like the stadium.

Angels - Trying to get Trout a World Series ring. Great line up and decent pitching staff. Otani DHimg occasional games could be fun too. I like the uniforms and pretty nice stadium.

Padres - Amazing young team, like the rays they also have a top farm system. Nice stadium and pretty solid new uniforms. Almost like the Braves though in terms of an easy GM job as most of the talent is too young talent not much work to do so maybe a bit easy.

That’s sort of where I’m at but definitely open to more interesting team ideas, maybe with storyline.

What if you were the Ray's, but moved them to Orlando? I've actually considered doing this. Just haven't pulled the trigger.

Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

I’ve though of that but never really like the look of custom uniforms in the show.

Aahhh, I thought you could keep everything the same and just move the team. I haven't tried it, but that would be the only way I would move a team. I wouldn't want to change anything other then the city

I think you get a base stadium, or a choice. Havent tried, so I really don't know.

You really should give Bacon's Fictional Rosters a shot. They really made me love this game again.

You have to choose from the current MLB stadiums, the classic stadiums, and the minor league stadiums, that have already been in the game. It’s also all or nothing, you can’t just relocate and leave everything else alone.

roll with the Atlanta Tigers: keep 1 Braves starting pitcher and 1 reliever, 1 Atlanta infielder and 1 Atlanta outfielder or catcher. make that your 'core 4'. trade the rest of the Braves to Detroit.
storyline? see USFL, September of '83, 100 personnel traded from Arizona Wranglers to Chicago Blitz (or was it from Chicago Blitz to Arizona Wranglers?).

Yeah you would lose all of the uniforms too. Could definitely make your own in the team creator but you'd lose all the Rays alternates because you only get a home Jersey and an away Jersey and you can't pick when you wear it (ie you always wear the home Jersey for home games by default).

You can "relocate" but keep all the uniforms and stuff. Just choose a different stadium before every home game.

As a Tigers fan I am guessing you will want to play as them in a few years when Mize, Manning and Torkelson are leading the team back to contention.

With that being the case I would recommend using an NL team this year to change it up and play in different ballparks.

This leaves your selections to the Braves and Padres. Both teams offer plenty of story lines and fun players.

It is easy to forget the Braves have not won a playoff series since 2001! And despite all their great teams in the 90’s and 00’s they have only won 1 World Series. They have some great young and dynamic hitters but their starting pitching needs to be upgraded in order to win a World Series. Luckily they have plenty of prospects to trade for an ace.

San Diego is the only city in MLB to have never won a championship in any major sport. They have a weird mix of a great young core and albatross contracts. And it goes without saying the new uniforms are awesome.

I would give Bacon’s roster a whirl. It is a lot of fun not having the preconceived idea of what a real player should play like. You get truly build a team

Yes they did. I would not count that as the same as winning a Super Bowl, NBA finals, Stanley Cup or World Series.
