Pre Season roster moves ???

Since we don't have a 40 man roster in Pre season do roster moves DURING pre season have any issues with how many times you can move a player?

In Spring Training, you will have all players on your 40 man roster available to use in Spring Training games.

If you move them to the minors during Spring Training, it will use an option year. If the player is out of options then he will be played on optional waivers where the other 29 clubs have 3 days I believe to claim him. If he goes unclaimed, then he will go down to your minor league system.

If you remove a player from the 40 man roster to add someone new to use in Spring Training, the player removed from the 40 man roster will be placed on waivers for 3 days where the other 29 clubs have the opportunity to claim him.

Seems dumb to even have a pre season if you can’t play players that are destined for the minors. Why have a pre season if you can’t play all your players

You can use anyone on your 40-man roster in spring training (14 of whom will end up in the minors), but yeah having non-roster invitees to allow more prospects to play in spring training would be a welcome addition
