Birds...

Ok, I get that they wanted to add a bit of life to the ballparks, but I think they might have gone a bit overboard with the birds. First, they are always seemingly only ever behind the centerfield wall, which is a bit odd. But more importantly, why are their shadows so large? They show up on the batters eye 400+ feet away like they are bloody pterodactyls! They are huge!

Maybe I am unobservant in real life, but I am pretty certain I can't see a birds shadow 400 feet away, it would be tiny. All in all this is generally a silly point, but in certain stadiums (Camden comes to mind) it is pretty distracting having a giant black shadow fly across the batters eye just behind the pitchers arm. Maybe just tone it down a bit?

Re: Birds...

I’ve definitely noticed them. I don’t know if I’ve ever noticed them in previous games but I noticed how they are always in the same place it seems.

In My franchise Roman Laureano of the Oakland A's demanded a trade because:

"I don't feel safe with Pterodactyl's in the outfield"

Honestly wish they just remove the birds all together. They look like giant birds and fly around in the same pattern all game.

Re: Birds...

I joked once years ago that if they ever included birds in the game someone would complain they were the wrong kind of birds.

Looks like my prediction has come true.

How's a man supposed to concentrate on hitting while simultaneously worrying about an impending dinosaur attack from the sky? It's unreasonable

Re: Birds...

I haven't noticed them yet, but my eyesight is pretty terrible. planes at citifield & petco are another thing altogether. I haven't had any games there to date, so I'm assuming the planes are still a dime a dozen at those two stadiums?
more on-topic, what about games in the rain, or cloudy, or night games, is it a Hitchcock movie under those circumstances also too as well?

also, as an O's fan, I approve the over use of birds if it will distract the cpu

I can vouch for this! I don’t remember the thread, nor topic, nor anything else about it, but I do remember getting a little chuckle from that comment
