    Rtts question

Haven't played in a couple of years, I can see they've changed a lot and have pretty much no explanation as to how any of it works. So it says my ratings are capped at 50, how do I raise that cap? Or can I not? As I am already getting near it and I'm not even at the end of my first season.

To my knowledge, you can not raise the cap of 50 for each stat. The only way to get a higher rating for that stat is by getting perks or equipment. That has been my experience so far. If you figure out a way to increase the cap please let me know.

I seriously hope that's not true, because if it is then I've almost maxed out my guy in about 3 days of playing and less than one season of baseball. If this is it then wow is that terrible

It’s true and the double edged sword. You can cap at 50 and you use archetypes and perks to raise it beyond that. It means you don’t gotta grind on each safe nearly as much but then on the other hand that’s half the fun.

I have seen it as a chance to try out higher difficulties and see how those work due to the fact I am 99 overall already. It has been fun but the idea of “leveling” is now also gone too. Kinda love and hate the whole concept.

I even had an idea to fix it, simply put 50 is the max for DD but all RTTS should be able to go to 70 and that extra 20 resets on each new save. So this gives you a chance to go 99 across board with archetypes but each new save would have to grind for that extra 20 and that extra 20 would never mess with DD and make the player overpowered in that mode. Win win I feel for what they are going for.

I don't get why companies think people want offline experiences to not be sandboxes. What harm was done by letting people play the game they bought the way they wanted to play it? RTTS with caps purely for the sake of online balancing is an atrocious decision that completely missed the entire RTTS community imo.

Who was legitimately asking for a more restrictive RTTS experience? I bet most DD users drop their BP from lineups a month in if they've even had them on there in the first place. I don't play DD, but I'm guessing people who like card modes will have a lot more fun collecting cards of players they want and using said players over their BP.

This idea was an ugly 3-pitch K, not just a swing and a miss.

Honestly, after playing the mode for myself I can pretty much say I think they deliberately did this as they thought people were playing Rtts too much and wanted them to play DD instead. I genuinely can't see another reason to make Rtts so shallow and, essentially, short.

In years gone by, it took years of playing to get your guy to be a major league stud, you had to put a lot of time into it and that was the point, the journey, levelling up and getting better. Then you'd probably do it all again with a different player, go on another journey. It was an RPG. This year it's all pretty much done inside one season, maybe you play a second so you get a full year with your stud in the majors, but I can't see much reason behind playing beyond that with the way the game is now. There is literally no reason to have a second save as your guy starts with the maxed out ratings from your original save.

They've taken away the modes longevity.

You'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think you're totally wrong. Between the loadouts and as you said the lack of longevity/incentive to play multiple saves, it does seem way to much of a miss to NOT know what they were doing. I just don't think you genuinely would've believed any of these ideas were actually good/wanted by the loyal RTTS community.
