Franchise, how do you decide which games to play?
Just like the title says, how do you decide which games to play? I mean 162 games is a lot of games.. Do you play all of them, do you just play division games? I'm just curious how some of you decide on what to play and what to sim in your franchises.Tags: None -
Re: Franchise, how do you decide which games to play?
I usually plan on one game a series, sometimes more depending on the team. I'm a White Sox fan and play as the Sox so sometimes I tend to sim more games against the lower teams in the same division in favor of playing other teams outside of the division you don't see or play as often. -

I play every game and every pitch, can't stand having simulated stats at the end of the season. If crunched for time you can put on fast play and quick counts and get games done pretty fast.LA Angels
Dallas Cowboys

Re: Franchise, how do you decide which games to play?
1st game of every home stand.
1st game in each new city/stadium.
I'll play every pitch.
Come playoff time, I'll play the 1st game every time the cities switch.Comment

Pretty easy for me. If it’s on the schedule, I play it.Comment

Re: Franchise, how do you decide which games to play?
I read it from someone here years ago, but I typically will do one game every four or five days so I get a chance to start with each starting pitcher. It's not always perfect, but it feels like it keeps things the most fresh.Comment

Re: Franchise, how do you decide which games to play?
I play every 6th game. I play Opening Day with my ace, and then sim the other 4 in the rotation. I then also sim the next game with my ace and play with the 2nd in the rotation. I then keep repeating this so that I'm working my way through the rotation but not having to play every game.
You're right, 162 is a lot of games. I enjoy team building as much as playing so I like to get 4-5 seasons deep into my franchises. I'd never get the time to do that if I was set on playing all 162.Comment
