Mid-game freezing

Has anyone experienced mid-game freezing? I’m on PS5. I am wondering if it has something to do with rain games, because the announcers had just gotten done talking about how there might be a rain delay if the weather kept up. FWIW, I was in the top of the 3rd at Fenway. 4-0 Red Sox at the time.

Had it happen to me (PS5) last night playing in the 2nd batter of the game. Tommy Edman popped out to 2nd baseman who just froze.

Uninstalled the game, hard rebooted PS5, and played again early this morning. Got a game in no problem. Next game, froze in the 5th inning after a flyout to center field.

Nothing worse then trying to play/enjoy a game that you're afraid is going to lock up at any moment.

Yep. I hadn’t experienced a freeze since MLB 06.

Yeah it sucks. I have shelved '22 and am back playing '21

I've only had it happen once during a franchise game on a pop fly to CF. Hopefully it's addressed soon as freezing during franchise games are extremely annoying when you lose your stats.

I really hope it is patched this week. Since it is a game breaker that should be a priority to them.

Happened to me three times already. Each time was on a pop up to the first base area.

Is this a PlayStation issue or on all consoles? Has anyone noticed a correlation for when it’s happening? I’m on Series X and haven’t had a crash yet but that would suck

PS5 Franchise here. I haven't seen this issue through 7 or 8 games. I did hard reset right after the patch and rebuild database. I also have the game running off of the secondary drive, A Sammy 980 Pro, because it's theoretically faster than the internal drive.

Damn was just about to pull the trigger on this game, but now I’m scared after the issues I had with M22.

I have been lucky then. I have played around 20 games (Franchise, PS5) since launch, and not a single freeze.
