Anybody struggling to hit on timing hitting?

I know how to hit in this game, but man this game want throw me a bone..lol
Last year's game was too easy to hit. This year's game is to another extreme.

I know you will struggle playing this game. I have struggled in the past.
And you should struggle, that's baseball, but I get good contact usually hit right to somebody, pop it up, or line drive out.

I'm playing default hof. Batting avg is .216. I've played 44 games. I'm still only 3 games below 500.

Don't get me wrong after last year, it was fun struggling to hit to an extent.

I'm going to stick with it. I hope I will get hot and start hitting again.

    Anyway rant officially over....

Why don’t you drop to All Star?

I thought it would be too easy. Plus, once I start a season, I don't like to change anything.

The way it's going I might have to try all star..

I would stick with it. If you played on HOF last year, I would do the same this year. You're going to end up going back and forth. Just mess with pitch speeds, knock em down a notch or two. My team is struggling to hit but its because they suck. The 2 guys in the lineup that have good hitting ratings are not having any trouble.

Yeah, I probably will. I'm using the cubs. Really not a good team. I guess I was spoiled last year with Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Bodie, and the rest.

Wait a minute, they still have Bodie. I think he's ingured. Might have to check my roster.

Not expecting this team to do much, but better than .216..lol

I would drop to all star and increase pitch speed by 1. It is a bit easier than hall of Fame at default as the timing window is just a tiny bit better.

There is no shame in dropping a difficulty or admitting you can't handle it. Play to have fun.

I'm playing on HOF timing with max pitch speeds. The game seems fine to me, I wouldn't change a thing.

Re: Anybody struggling to hit on timing hitting?

Always remember you’re battling two things at once when you hit: the pitch (timing it up *exactly* is obvs very important — the game knows when you’re trying to swing at the FB and slider at the same time, don’t even try) but then also the dice roll from the hitter’s swing.

That means even when you’re 100% on-point with your swings you can still get bad results. This leads to second-guessing your timing. That leads to bad swings, impatience, etc., and before you know it you’re all screwed up at the plate.

The solution when this happens is get back to basics: sit on your pitch and don’t expand the zone at all. Draw a few walks. The hits will come.
                Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

IMO hitting in a season and hitting in exhibition games aren't always the same. In exhibition your players are always fresh. In Franchise you have fatigue and cold/hot streaks to deal with.

Me personally I use Armor and Swords sliders but I increase human timing to 6 and lower both pitch speeds to 3 because it does seem like timing is harder this year. If I start to slump I lower to All Star and when I get too hot I go back up to HOF.

You don't need to drop, just bump up the pitch speed sliders 1 tick. It's noticeably slower this year - which can really make it tough.

I had to do the same....I'm 1 tick higher than last year.

It doesn't effect anything else, so you can keep on trucking with your current chise.

I switched back to directional and am just not picking a direction. I’ve seen far more hits using that. With timing I’d have close to perfect contact and end up with 3 or 4 hits a game. Not sure what the deal with it is, but I’ve found it very hard to get hits.

Directional is actually the same thing as timing when you don't pick a direction......so this is why I said just keep doing what you're doing and try not to jump around with various settings back and forth. I use directional and it works great and I rarely pick a direction.

I do ok with Directional/Timing in Franchise playing on All-Star, but I struggle hitting with it in DD. Just feels like the mode is optimized for zone hitting and the overpowered PCI.

one of the many things I like about dynamic, I could play with all the other sliders set to default. I don't, mind you. but I could. it's just that I love to tinker with the other sliders. get under the hood of that engine, really open that baby up.

But, then you don't really settle on a difficulty level. It just keep going up and down, doesn't it? That would drive me nuts. But hey I could be wrong. And either way as long as we're all having fun...
