HOF/Legend hitting difficulty differences

In a nutshell i'm looking for something close to what's realistic in terms of what an MLB pitcher would deliver. I've settled on HOF for a while now but some at bats i'm seeing too many bad pitches.

Does legend give more realistic pitches in terms of where the ball is pitched or does it just 'cheat' you out of hits by turning grounders into catches for the infield etc. or nerf your hitters?

I'm by no means the best batter so would be bumping the contact and timing slider way up to compensate but as i've said HOF feels a bit too cheap at the minute.

Re: HOF/Legend pitching difficulty differences

I play on Legend with default sliders and zone hitting and have for the past few years.

First thing I'll mention is that Legend doesn't "cheat" you out of hits or anything of the sort. The PCI is smaller and I think the pitch speed may be a tad faster than HOF, but I don't know that there is really a drastic difference between HOF and Legend other than what I listed.

The balance is really good where I can draw walks, strike out looking do to being fooled, getting hits, being shut down as an offense, and everything in between.

Great, Iíll bump it up then. Was worried I might get the effect where the difficulty is artificially ramped up at the sacrifice of realism.

Re: HOF/Legend pitching difficulty differences

The only thing difficulty does is increase or decrease the PCI circles when hitting. The AI does not pitch any differently on rookie than it does on legend. I am hitting on rookie and can assure you they paint corners etc just the same.

The same for pitching. The AI's PCI size changes depending on difficulty, but their plate approach is the same on legend as it is on rookie level.

Re: HOF/Legend pitching difficulty differences

Here's a game I had there lol. This was Allstar pitching believe it or not. Coors Field sometimes gets out of control imo.
