Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

Move the early 1990 Ms.... anywhere..

Amazing core with multiple HOFrs.. Junior, Unit, Edgar, Vizquel.. All-Stars Buhner and Tino.. 1992 they signed David Ortiz.. 1993 they drafted A-Ro(i)d..

Go win somewhere else, since they can't do it in Seattle.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

For a change of pace, you could take control of a minor-league team and just play their games. I came close to doing that.

This right here is why I am still playing '20. Bacons Fictional is one of the greatest rosters added to this game. We will never see its like again without carry over saves.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

I did a Franchise once where I was just the Skipper. I turned everything to Auto except for Line Ups and stuff that the Head Coach would do. I started in Double A and only Managed that Team. If I made it to the Playoffs I would move up to Triple A and then again the Majors. All the while only controlling the team itself. Lineups, Injuries Day to Day game play etc. It was kind of fun and liberating to not worry about trades, budgets and all that. I just dealt with the team that Management gave me.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

You could do the rule 5 draft franchise. There's a YouTube video on how it works (pretty simple).

You could also sim ahead approx 15 seasons, basically creating your own fictional roster, and start from there.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

Colorado Rockies, sim all at-bats, pitch only.
if you can win a pennant with Colorado by relying on whatever you accomplish by pitching, you know you've done something.
my last Rockies season play-through, I went with 10 pitchers with stamina over 60 (basically, starting pitchers) and 3 true relievers. none of my starting pitchers pitch more than 3 innings at a time, none have more than 120 innings pitched in the season. and my 3 true relievers, I kept 1 cycled constantly with 2 other different relievers, shuffling back and forth between Colorado and Class Single A (I didn't want them in AAA or AA so my milb mgrs. wouldn't wear their energy out) so that, in effect, my pitching staff was 10 starting pitchers and 5 relievers

I call it the ''Rocky Mountain Way''.
it's better than the way we had
lol

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

OP sounds to me like you want the guys you want, no questions asked. The task is to go into the roster editor and make all the moves you want before starting a chise, save the changes, then load up that roster, start the chise with that roster, and let the franchise develop organically from there.

I do this in NBA & NHL and it’s a perfectly fun way to approach things, especially when you know exactly what it is you want to do.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

I decided to go full expansion draft. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the players on the actual team yet though. Probably just leave them as FAs.

But, I need some help. I'm compiling a list of players who I think would be eligible to take in an expansion draft. I need some feedback if you think anyone is going to be protected by their clubs. Top 15 guys need to be protected.
