Things that have quietly disappeared from The Show series?

I’m curious. I noticed that those live action shots of the cities are gone now. I know they were low res but I still really enjoyed them and felt they added a lot to the atmosphere. Anything else that has left the series that maybe is not noticeable right away? Gameplay or presentation wise.

Things that have quietly disappeared from The Show series?

• catcher not having enough time to throw the ball back to the pitcher/real-time presentation in general

• we begged for years and years for practice mode, specifically batting practice, to be integrated into franchise. I’ve made a billion equipment and stance edits to my franchise roster; I have zero interest in a practice mode that has no connection to the roster I’m currently working on in my franchise, they’re literally not even the same guys. They’re not rated the same, they’re not on the same hot or cold streak, they’re not wearing the same gear, etc., it’s like they added practice mode to the game and then just FORGOT to bring it to franchise mode and then the fan base FORGOT we wanted it in franchise mode!

• I swear the logos on the turtlenecks used to switch between TC1 and TC2 at some point and now they’re always TC1.

The relief pitcher dropping his glove coming into the game. Not that I miss this.

Things that have quietly disappeared from The Show series?

Not GP or presentation wise but the ability to set prices in franchise mode and gain sponsorships/upgrades for performance.

Example would be your own tv network for winning back to back World Series or upgrading from a team bus to jet.

Somewhat unrealistic for any mlb team to travel by bus these days but still, it was a fun feature that added the ability to grow revenue in franchise mode.

  • More (and more accurate) batting stances and pitching windups, ie: Rickey Henderson's.
  • HR Camera option to be turned off.
  • Year to year carry over
  • Lots of equipment
  • Many legends and stars (ie: Ty Cobb, Ichiro, Mel Ott, etc)

Graphics aside, the game as a whole package is a shadow of what it once was during the PS3 era. If I could ever get an up to date roster for the PS3 The Show 16 I'd probably never play another version. If I could get an up to date roster for The Show 07 on PS2, I'd definitely play that instead.

L2 in RTTS to activate Broadcast view while ball in play doesn't work anymore.

The Vita version got a roster update.

The file format is the same, and there are tools to break the encryption. You should be able to get it to PS3 without too much trouble.
