Re: The Bellator Thread

Bellator XIX is the next city over from my place, so I'm going to be going tonight. My brother is a big MMA fan, but I prefer more Boxing action. In any case, it should be fun.

Re: The Bellator Thread

Bellator has a nice crop of young fighters. They're going to make an exceptional "feeder fed" for the UFC.

Re: The Bellator Thread

He's always been more exciting than good. His wrestling is ok but any good wrestler will out-wrestle him. His stand up has always been sloppy and he lacks the KO power to make up for it. The UFC just fed him nothing but scrubs for his first 5 fights.

Re: The Bellator Thread

Apparently Bellator wants a fight between their LW champion Eddie Alvarez and Strikeforce LW champion Gilbert Melendez.

Bellator has been very vocal about making the fight happen (which both fighters have already stated they would be interested in doing), to the point where they pretty much are calling out Scott Coker and Strikeforce.

"I said it last week, I would love to see that fight happen," Rebney said. "I'd love to see it as a CEO, I'd love to see it as a fan. Gilbert asked for that fight. Eddie responded, just across the board, 'Yes, yes, yes.' For nine days we've been trying to reach Scott Coker -- who heads up Strikeforce -- a couple of times a day. We've yet to get a response. I remain eternally optimistic."
MMA needs this fight, it would be great for the fans. Let UFC be the #1 organization in the world as long as the other organizations can co-promote on big time fights and cards.
