Re: An alternative to the shine found.

Update after playing with it. I wore down their stamina like normal, but instead of letting their stamina drain, I just held the stick for a like 2 seconds, i letgo when the rest of their stamina drained, I got a good yank, but still had half of my stamina, I finished it off with the shine and got the tap. This is getting interesting.

So basically u can use it to gain a bigger advantage in the submission quicker. So you have less "distance" to go to finish the sub?

Re: An alternative to the shine found.

it seems, but while your holding for a yank you can actually see them starting to sweep you.sometimes the yank gets you further, sometimes the yank gets you right back where you started, sometimes it wasnt worth it to yank and you have to shine the rest of the way to avoid the sweep. and lets not forget that sometimes you actually get the finish out of it. It really depends on how much stamina they have, plus the amount of stamina you have. This is what i have to go on so far. our camp will definately have to put some work to dig deeper and see how it all really works. hopefully the in game tutorial will have something on it.

Edit: I am also working with this just on the cpu. i havent seen anything with how this will go against another person. Nor if you can hold for defensive purposes as well.

Thanks for posting this info Maniac.

I tried your method, and even though I still didn't finish the sub, I got closer to completing it than I ever did using just the shine.

Ditto. Just got a sub (my first on the demo) using this method, but definitely have to play with it more to get the feel for it.

What I want to know/haven't seen posted yet...are the buttons completely useless this year? I guess I can see the big deal with turbo controllers and stuff, but it would be nice to have button mashing as an option offline. I hate "the shine."

Having trouble with this method. Which direction are you pulling the stick?

not pulling, pressing the right stick in like a button and holding it.

Re: An alternative to the shine found.

I played against some of my buddies last night and this method is deadly versus a human. You basically put a big chunk of energy to yanking on the arm and then finish what ever is left with the shine. I was tapping my buddies literally instantly. spamming transitions is deadly in this years game.
