Dude brings the LOLz, too bad he's gonna get KTFO.
I dont like him because he thinks he's better than him. Last time i checked he lost to Maia who Anderson destroyed without trying. But most of his losses are against tough opponents.

Lets get this straight right away. Anderson did NOT destroy Maia. If he did there would not of been the disgrace news topics all over the place after the fight was over. Instead he made Maia look horrible the first 2 rounds then made himself look horrible the last 3 rounds. I personally think Anderson got tired from doing all the fancy stuff he was doing round 1 and 2. He knew if Maia was able to put him on his back he would be in trouble. Instead he got into Maia's head and took him out his game. Maia did nothing to push the fight. He half halfheartedly chased Anderson around the ring.

Now Sonnen on the other hand will make damn sure to charge Anderson and attempt the take down over and over and over. We all know Anderson is dangerous off his back, but the million dollar question is. If Sonnen gets Anderson on his back, will Anderson be able to prevent the brutal ground and pound from Sonnen.

I see Sonnen having a great shot. I think you have to give the fight to Silva, but even then you can't count Sonnen out if it hits the ground.

This.

I think Sonnen has a better chance, albeit still slim, than people are giving him. He's gonna come straight at him, which definitely plays to Anderson's style, but it will be interesting to see if he can put pressure on him and I think eventually he's gonna put Anderson on his back.

And as far the mental part goes, Sonnen's got a huge advantage. Whereas most of these guys are very timid and try not to lose in their fights with Silva, Sonnen actually BELIEVES he can beat him. It's not the usual "I talk trash about this guy to try and convince myself he's beatable" crap that Trigg pulled for the Hughes' fights. He truly believes everything he says and has it dead set in his mind that he can and will beat him. Now does that make him crazy? Of course it does, the guy is clearly out of his mind (which is scary to think he was almost elected to a public office). But he believes he can win and we have to give him credit for that. Cause in a sport where two men fight shirtless in a cage for the entertainment of others at the risk of life and limb, you have to be a little crazy.

But yeah, he will probably get KTFO'ed.

LOL well said.

I think Silva's reputation has created this "god like" figure similar to what Machida created before losing to Shogun. I think people are not taking into account that Anderson Silva is just a normal man and can get all beat up just like everyone else. Sonnen has a great legitimate shot because he will put major pressure on Silva. We all know Silva is a dominating counter striker. but if he winds up in this position

He won't be able to counter strike and develop the power he is known far. So his "comfort zone" is taken away from him and then Sonnen is placed in his comfort spot. Which he can deliver brutal strikes. Anderson will most likely win. But Sonnen has a better shot than most.

All it takes is one knee or punch for Anderson to knock him out.
I think if Anderson tries he will destroy him, but if screws around and tires out sonnnen can put him on his back. Also though, he tired out also because they were in an outside arena.
Even if Sonnen gets him on the ground though, anderson can submit him. Hes got very underrated submissions.

I believe so. But like you said Anderson is very dangerous off his back. He will wrap those lanky legs around for a triangle in a split second or he will deliver brutal elbows from the bottom. But even with all that said. I honestly think Sonnen has a better shot than what people are given him credit for.

Anything can happen once the door closes, but im just saying he has so many more ways to win than Chael does.
There is no doubt he has great wrestling, but i personally think he should have got another fight before the title shot. Nate was a great win, but i think he should have fought one more top ten fighter beforehand. He did triangle lutter, who is a bjj blackbelt, then crazy elbowed him in the fore head.

Yea he has plenty of ways to win. But wrestling is for sure his weakest area. So someone like Sonnen puts him at a better chance to lose than say the Victor Belfort fight. I think Anderson would completely destroy Victor. Because Victor style leads perfectly into Silva's strength. Silva would counter Victor trying to exchange with him and you can say good night Belfort.

Now Sonnen on the other hand. His style matches up well against Silva. He will try to get in close, keep as close to Silva as possible, and try to put him on his *** every chance he can. Plus we can all agree solid wrestling bases have had great success in the UFC.
