Re: Favorite Fighter

Thiago will probably win, but dont count anyone out once the cage is shut. Ask Todd Duffee about that...

Re: Favorite Fighter

I should add Mir and Gonzaga to my list; I forgot about them.

I'm not a huge fan of Mir outside the cage, but inside I really like his style. Yeah, he's pretty slow and awkward, but I like his style.

Gonzaga I just like because he's a beast. Some good stand up, heavy hands, and a great ground game. Guy just needs to learn to survive. Seems once he's hit hard, he just loses his composure and that's the end of the fight.

If they matched up Mir and Gonzaga, I'd buy that PPV in an instant.

Re: Favorite Fighter

My favorite fighters:

HW:
Big Nog- I've always been a big fan of his but, once I saw him as a TUF coach I liked him that much more.
Second choice would be Cain. That guy just crushes people. Including my #1 choice I like Carwin a lot as well.

LHW:
Forrest- His fight against Bonnar is what got me interested in watching MMA.
Second choice is probably Shogun. Dude is just pure class.

MW:
Dan Henderson- I loved what he did against Bisping and I hate that he isn't in the UFC anymore. It makes me sad
Second choice is Amir. He reminds me a lot of Forrest lite.
I'm also a huge fan of Mayhem Miller.

WW:
Chris Lytle- I love the way he fights. He's is a front runner for FOTN in any PPV view that he's in.
Second is Alves just because he smashed Matt Hughes

LW:
BJ- I've alway's been a BJ fan. Plus, all of my friends hate him so that makes me like him even more.

Maybe someone should start a thread for our most hated fighters

My friends hate almost every fighter. They pick out like 4 fighters they can pull for and absolutely hate on everybody else.

I'm like...Seriously, how can you intensely hate Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin? What's the reasoning behind that?

I don't really hate any fighters.

He is, he needs to get get a better quality opponent though. Top 10 next fight. I think Vlad should be a good fight for Bones and he can lose to him even if nobody thinks so. Even though this might be a step down for him, Phil Davis (who i think is another great prospect) would be a good test for him. See if he can stop the takedown, if he did against him he would tko him

I like how the ufc been dealing with him. The Bonnar fight pretty much put him on the scene IMO. They put him with a brawler with a granite chin and beat him convincingly. They put him against a wrestler in Hammill who he dominated till getting DQ'd. Then they put him against a big test in a hungry Vera which he dominated as well. This guys skill set is just rediculous. The big question to me is can he take a punch. Hes never really been tested and thats saying alot with the likes of who his first few fights were against. I think Vlad is a step back IMO, but I think the UFC wants him on the free show cause they know hes gonna come to fight and if he wins then Im positive a quality opponent will be next.
