The 1 Thing That Could Have Saved UFC Undisputed
Although I do still enjoy UFC Undisputed 2010, with all of the complaints that I've been hearing about the game, sliders could have really kept a lot of people happy. With the EA MMA game coming out (most likely with sliders a la Fight Night), I see many people shelfing the UFC game.Tags: None -
Re: The 1 Thing That Could Have Saved UFC Undisputed
Well for me, I only played UFC 2009 online. And since I heard that UFC 10 had major online problems, I figured it wouldnt be worth it to get it. I played the demo and the gameplay seemed pretty solid(except for the flash KO's and subs) but like you said, sliders would have probably fixed that.
If the online was stable i probably would've of picked it up. But since EA MMA is coming out in a month, im just gonna pass up on UFC.Lineup:

Yea, I thought about getting EA MMA, but decided not as I already have UFC 2010, and I never by two of the type of games a year. Because EA is said to be releasing this game every other year, I may buy it next year when the price drops.Comment

Re: The 1 Thing That Could Have Saved UFC Undisputed
Being someone that played the game often this game had A LOT more issues than sliders could have fixed.
The complete lack of a striking game was a massive flaw and the way submissions were in 2010 is absolutely ridiculous. The game was lacking in way too many areas to start, but than the crappy servers just piled on.Comment

To this day, their servers still don't work right. Still says the same message it has been saying since day 1. If THQ went back to buttons for submissions, it would have made 80% of people happy.
EA has proved time and time again, when the consumers are vocal about a change in control, or game play offer a patch to switch it back or make it better.
EA has done it with the following games:
Fight Night Round 4 - brought back punching with buttons instead of right stick via patch
Madden 11 - brought back madden 10 pre-snap controls when people got vocal about the strategy pad via patch.
NCAA 11 - made uniforms dirty via tuner. Fixed online dynasty and teambuilder via patch.
I mean seriously NCAA 11 has had 2 tuner updates and a patch.
Madden 11 has had 2 patches, with 3rd one schedule for the end of this month.
Sony patched The Show.
2k patched NBA 2k10.
Hell even the hockey game that just came out already has a patch.
But with UFC 2010.......for some reason THQ seems to drop the ball when it comes with patches. Or should I say the lack of them. It don't take multiple months to come out with a patch that is for sure.Comment

They released a patch already, but I heard it didnt do much. Seriously, how could they release a patch and online still be broken? 2K fixed ranked match connections with the first patch they released. To this day, their servers still don't work right. Still says the same message it has been saying since day 1. If THQ went back to buttons for submissions, it would have made 80% of people happy.

I dont even think flash KO's were toned down in the patch they released. They waited until EA MMA is almost out to address these stuff....pshhh. Too late THQLineup:

Re: The 1 Thing That Could Have Saved UFC Undisputed
I agree with what you all said, but there still are many offline gamers that are upset about how every match ends with a KO, difficulty in submitting the AI, and lack of balance in other areas of the game. I figured sliders that impact KO's, submissions, and maybe the amount of time it takes for the ref to force a stand up could deal with some of the complaints many gamers are having.
I only played the demo for 09, so I'm not too familiar with the many differences between 09 and 10, but I still like 10 despite its faults, and hopefully the 2nd patch can fix the many server problems. But overall, I would say that the game didn't live up to the hype.Comment

Re: The 1 Thing That Could Have Saved UFC Undisputed
UFC 2010 was the biggest flop this year I think. I played UFC 09 a ton and really enjoyed it. It wasnt perfect, but for the first year they put together a pretty solid game. 2010 was like a step back 5 years. I sold it within a week of buying it so I never go to try any of the stuff with the patch out. But from what people say it is still messed up.
I cant wait for EA MMA though. Hopefully it doesnt disappoint.PSN: King10Sooted
