He WAS great in Pride back in the day. But the sport is starting to pass him by. He should hang it up before he taints his legacy any further.

Overrated. He beat CroCop and Nog. I guess that's some as in more than one.
Others were all past their prime or mediocre to begin with.

That's a nice blanket statement, but it's false.

Here is an opportunity for some of you to educate yourself:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_Emelianenko

Click on each name and tell me again they were cake walks or beyond their prime when Fedor fought them. Sure there are a few but Schilt, Herring, Sobral, Silva, Rogers, Coleman were definitely not mediocre nor were they past their prime. Heck even Kevin Randalman was no joke during that time.

You're not trying to actually play off Brett Rogers as a legit competitor are you? You might as well say Hong Man Choi was a legit fighter for Fedor too based on his K-1 skills.

Fedor's gameplan ever since he took Timmay's soul is to overhand right someone and put them down to the floor. That is the only reason why Rogers looked even competent against Fedor because Rogers, as we've seen in his last two fights, was never really that good and is completely clueless on the ground. (Yet, ironically, managed to get up from underneath Fedor..) This is also his biggest problem as he has literally gone out there ever since Timmeh and decided that he wants to go and sling overhand right fastballs like they're going out of style as if he's Josh Koscheck or Chuck Liddell.

Here's the "problem" with Fedor. He is, without a doubt, the GOAT HW. However, how much does that really mean? HW was terrible back when Fedor was the king. (I also do not think Fedor was "ducking" all challengers as people like to put it either, as in keep in mind guys like JDS and Cain had not turned into the monsters that they were today. I also think Lesnar vs Fedor, now seeing how Lesnar reacts towards getting hit, would've been an incredibly favorable matchup for Fedor now as he would've been able to land.)

MMA has also rapidly evolved, while Fedor stays with the same 'ol techniques and training methods. You can't get away training in the woods while a lot of people are going out there, training in world-class environments. There are legit 260 lb fighters now. No more Zulus and Gary Goodridges. When you combine the evolution of MMA with Fedor aging and all of a sudden becoming a one trick pony.. well there ya have it.

Re: Strikeforce - Fedor vs. Hendo - July 30

Just watched the fight on YT. Didn't watch it live. I thought that Fedor was going to retire after the Bigfoot fight? Anyway, that was a crafty slip by Henderson. Fedor is a legend, but all good things must come to an end. Can't believe that some people didn't think the stoppage was legit. Herb Dean never stops a fight to early. Strikeforce is a bedlam of confusion on the commentary booth.

Fedor beat Rogers at the standup game. Prior to them meeting up, Rogers was knocking out everyone in front of him before being exposed on the ground.

Once again, there are a few who think just because Fedor is losing then that means he was never a legit champion. Also to say that Pride was not stacked with HW's is actually funny as Pride was way much more than what UFC is today. There were few rules back then and Fedor was in basically an unlimited weight class. Like I said, it is obvious who watched then versus those who only know the UFC.

Hong Man Choi, seriously bro..........tell me one UFC fighter who didn't have a bum fighter in front of them at some point in their career.

Here is Fedor vs Choi which once again even his weakest opponents were still a beast.
