Strikeforce LW Title Fight: Gilbert Melendez v Jorge Masvidal- Dec 17

So there are reports that Dana is already trying to get Gil into the UFC ASAP. Meaning this fight could be in jeopardy.

Dana said that the LW division is stacked so he isn't guaranteeing an immediate title shot for Gil. IMO they should just have Gil fight the winner of Edgar/Maynard and have all the other LW's wait. I don't care to see Gil fight a UFC contender because it probably wouldn't be fair to that contender, which is assumed that he has already went through a gauntlet.

Just have the other contenders wait in line.

One more SF fight for Gil, and hopefully for Mousasi as well. Get them the hell out of there. Although Masvidal to me, aint no joke. Arguably top 20 LW and I like his skill set. It would be a quality win for Gil, since Masvidal should be in the UFC anyway IMO.

I think Gil will win this convincingly tbh, I think he is a top 5 LW, and he should prove it. Saying that though, Masividal is no joke.

Something I just noticed.. how come Gil has fought so little in the past few years?

He did also have an injury he had to recover from in between the Aoki and Kawajiri fights.
