THQ's official response to the missing roster fighters

- Anthony Johnson - Did not fight at all in 2010. Was not our Zuffa or our radar when the roster was put together.

- Stephan Bonnar - Was on a three fight losing streak up until July of 2010. While he is a big part of why the UFC has grown to the level it has, he has not been real relevant in the LHW division outside of his fights with Forrest (and maybe Jardine).

- Jake Shields - was a big name coming from Strikeforce and Zuffa knew he was going to be fighting for a title so it made sense to get him in.

- John Hathaway - was on a good streak until he met with Mike Pyle. That loss killed a lot of the hype around him (for now. I think he'll have another good streak over the next year).

- Rory MacDonald - had 1 win and 1 loss up until April of 2011.

- Matt Mitrione - has had a decent streak, but hasn't really fought anyone notable yet (the Kongo fight this weekend should answer questions about where he stands in the division).

- Sean McCorkle - had a lot of hype behind him coming into the UFC and was really building up the fights he had booked. Hard to guess that he would get cut so quickly after his win over Hunt.

- Travis Browne - While he may not have had a huge year in 2010 he did beat McSweeney then go on to fight to a draw with Cheick Kongo. We figured this guy would go on to get a couple more solid wins this year and he did.

- Rick Story - didn't really have any notable wins until he beat Hazelett and Hendricks. The Thiago Alves fight was taken on short notice and he won an upset in that fight. Tough to predict when guys will get an opportunity like that, let alone that they will be able to capitalize on it like he did.

- Korean Zombie - lost his only 2 fights in 2010.

- Gustaffson - was 2-1 in the UFC up until February of 2011. Even then he wasn't on too many peoples radar until after he beat Hammil

- Joe Lauzon - was 1-2 in 2010. If he didn't beat Guillard then a lot less people would be asking for him to be in the game now.

- Rafael Dos Anjos - was 2-1 in 2010 and hadn't beaten any top competition (the one time he fought a top guy he lost, to Guida).

Not saying these guys don't deserve to be in the game, some of them will come as DLC for sure, just trying to give some perspective on why they aren't on the initial roster.

Good to hear that some will be DLC but the Bonner and Johnson excuses are ridiculous.

Also, no Couture in the game because EA is refusing to release him from the EA MMA deal.

Still don't know how Rumble wasn't on there roster. He got screwed in that fight against Koscheck. That would have been like 5-2 in the UFC

Well then madden shouldn't put team's 3rd stringers in the game. Hell, the 0-16 Lions shouldn't have been in next years game either. Gimmie a break. If they're in the UFC, they should be in the game. Period.

The excuses for Rumble and J.Lau are bull. If 2010 record is so important how come Mike Swick is in the game?? He lost his only fight in 2010 and hadn't won since 2009!!!! Don't get me wrong I like swick but he is hardly relevant.

I agree. Also Dana has said multiple times Bonnar would never be cut. Him not being there is terrible.
