Wonder how this will go. I have no idea what NY is thinking on this one?? Brings more money in to the state one would think.

Probably has to do with politics. Lorenzo Fertitta owns a number of casinos that are non-union, and that conflicts with the culture and political powers in New York. This is probably the only way that New York will ever see an MMA match.

Its a brilliant move by the UFC. The Culinary Union was never going to let NY lawmakers pass the MMA bill. Now this forces the state of NY to decide whether it wants to spend resources to fight this lawsuit. The UFC has a great argument that all of the disciplines (wrestling, boxing, BJJ, kickboxing, judo) are all legal in NY but the combination of them all (MMA) isnt.
