UFC 143- Condit v. Diaz - Februrary 4

Two fights signed for the card:

St. Pierre v. Diaz and Condit v. Koscheck.

Looks like Pettis/Lauzon is in the works as well

I'm a bit surprised they would give Josh such a quick chance at fighting for the title again.

I think Ellenberger actually deserves this fight more than Josh and I also think it would have been a much more intriguing fight.

carraba - are you talking about Ellenberger vs. Condit? If so... they've already fought once (UFC Fight Night 19), and Carlos won the split decision.

So, I disagree. If they wanna test Jake w/ a big time welterweight... let him see if he can stop Jon Fitch's boring gameplan.

True they have already fought, but that would be three years ago if they were to fight in FEB

Ellenberger has rattled off a bunch of wins and punctuated it with his victory over Shields in a much more impressive manner than GSP.

Jon Fitch already has a fight against Hendricks in December. So that's a no go.

Ellenberger/Condit would have been perfect. Not to mention, I believe it was a really close/good fight between Condit/Ellenberger. It's been long enough for them to get a rematch.

They won't give josh a shot if GSP wins. Ellenberger or Fitch will leapfrog him.

Wth, then I really don't understand them not just putting Ellenberger there. Did they just not want to waste two contenders in Ellenberger and Condit?

It was my understanding that Condit/Josh winner would get the next title shot.

Who does Ellenberger even fight now? They really should have just matched him up with Condit, that was the perfect fight for all intents and purposes.

It says on Sherdog he is facing Diego at UFC 141

I don't think Josh will get a title shot that fast if he beats Condit still, I believe Ellenberger/if Fitch wins it will trump Koscheck.

Exactly. GSP is running out of contenders.
