Anyone have tips on career submission training?

Because almost every time I bother, my fighter won't even attempt a submission. No matter what position I get into the submission trigger does absolutely nothing. It seems that only by luck will I ever actually try a submission. Then if I get back into that same position another time, it won't work again.

It drives me nuts. I spend the enter two minutes switching positions, trying to get my guy to just attempt a sub.

sorry man idk an answer to this right now. havent played the game for a while.

also the career mode doesnt keep what its promising. no stat decay, some players arent retiring before 45 etc, just completely unrealistic.

really hope somebody will answer your question tho!

You need to be more specific. Are you trying to attempt any submission or a specific one? Positioning is huge w/ submissions. Are you clicking the LS? Is your opponent transition blocking when you go for the sub? If so, you won't be able to initiate it. You need to set up the sub attempt w/ punches or knees first.

Is that how it works, transition blocking blocks any attempts? I'll try that later, thanks.

Basically, I'll transition around to various positions and try various submissions and they just almost never, ever work. I'll try attacking with a punch or something first to see if making them block that changes anything.

When I do actually get an attempt to work - I usually jump up in joy that it did something. That's how bad it is.

It's frustrating because I'd rather manually train my fighter - but in certain cases I just have to select auto and accept lower grades for the training session.

Again, I've never tried this so take it w/ a grain of salt. Go look at what subs your fighter actually has. Not all subs are available to you. Once you find the subs you have, look at the position you have to be in. Do you had to postured up for them? After you've found that, watch and see of they opponent is transition blocking when you go for a sub. If so, stop transitioning so fast and mix in some punches and knees. If none of this works, I'm out of advice
