UFC 151 - Jones vs. Hendo - Sept 1 - Vegas
It's official. I don't see this going too well for Mr. Henderson. Does anyone think he can last 5 rounds?Tags: None -
Re: UFC 151 - Jones vs. Hendo - Sept 1 - Vegas
He don't have to last 5 rounds. All he needs is to land one solid shot on Jones face and it has a 97% chance of being over. Dan has legit KO power.
If Jones is smart, he will not want to stand in front of Dan for long periods of time like he did against Rashad. His best bet is to take Hendo down. The clinch game is Dan's domain, it would be playing with fire. -

Dan will get picked apart on the feet and it'll be a stoppage either sub or TKO.
Dan's gas tank isn't up to par these days and when you're facing one of the greatest fighters ever in his prime... it's just not gonna happen for Dan.
We'll see where Jones' head is at though leading up to the fight. I don't think he'll get big-headed but who knows...Comment

Yea, I don't care how skilled he is, Dan could have 25 minutes to hit him w/ one shot and it's over. He should take him to the ground and just rough him up there. It'll tire him out a lot faster and he can finish him off or play safe and win on points.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Has anyone in the UFC taken Jon Jones down yet? I remember him pulling guard a couple of times, but I can't recall if this has happened. Dan is solid in the clinch, but even if it ends up there I just see him getting beat up with elbows or dragged down to the ground himself. I don't think that Hendo has a huge advantage anywhere that the fight ends up.
Dan has great power and could definitely drop Jones if he connects, but I just can't visualize him having a ton of opportunities to make that happen. If much quicker guys like Machida and Evans were only able to land a few significant blows, I don't like Hendo's chances. I see this one going down pretty much like Ex stated. Jones just seems too much on his game right now.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 05-10-2012, 02:24 PM.Comment

Yes, all get hype like we did w/ Penn, Lesnar, Machida, etc. Let's not forget The Spider was even made to look human a couple years ago.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Jones should win this with ease, but then again... Henderson shouldn't even be here. He was the underdog against, Fedor, against Shogun, all he needs is one shot to land and its good night.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Like others have said takes only 1 punch from Hendo, but I can't see Jones losing this fight. He should be able to work Hendo with ease.Comment

I would argue that Hendo has the same power as Rampage. I would also argue that Hendo's defensive wrestling is average. Rampage and Jake Shields were able to take him down with ease. Hendo has four straight wins against fighters who have no intention of taking him down (babalu, feijao, fedor and rua). When your only hope is to land one big right hand, your chances are pretty low just like rampages were.Comment
