My opinion was misunderstood. The UFC will continue to make money off Rousey and fans will tune in if she wins. Will it be enough to headline PPV, I would say no but as long as the other fights are good it should sell.

Rousey has 2-3 deserving opponents in the division right now. Cyborg may do a superfight, but it wouldn't be for the belt. There is Tate & Coenen (if she wants to go back to 135), Kaufman is also there but who wants to see that. What I meant is that if Tate loses again, no one wants to see another rematch. So you have 2 fights left with worthy names.

Then what happens? The losers will fight the up and comers, since there is no depth they should be favored to win those fights. Do you give an unknown and undeserving fighter a shot? Do you keep rehashing rematches? Unless they get some depth, they will run out of deserving fighters.

Invicta is their depth right now. There are plenty of good female fighters in that league who can work their way to a UFC contract, Right now there are 3 current contenders in Coenen, McMann and Tate. That alone gets you into 2014. Even if Rousey runs through all of them it gives the UFC 15-18 mos to add more talent. Shoot if you have a Cyborg superfight...that makes it 18-21 mos to add talent.

Also the Tate and Cyborg fights are PPV worthy right now. Especially when the UFC was willing to put Johnson/Benevidez and Aldo/Mendes as PPV headliners in 2013. The Tate and Cyborg fights can draw 200k plus and thats great for womens MMA.

I honestly don't think it's that rash (for lack of a better word) of a thought if Rousey wins. 2-3 fights away would put us at late this year, early next year? You never know what could happen in that time.
