I expect this to be the beginning of the end, if that hasn't already happened, for Sonnen.

Sonnen is smart and keeps himself relevant and popular with his "character acting" but he's on the decline and quite frankly I don't think has any place in the 205 division. After what I expect to be a one sided fight in this one, assuming Rua is taking it seriously, I don't think Sonnen will be around much longer, maybe one or two more fights, at least not in a headlining type role.

I just looked at this fight card in it's entirety and holy hell there's a lot of great fights on this card. I mean from top to bottom there are some great match-ups. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm thankful because the Aldo/Zombie card before this one looks kind of weak

I'm interested to see if Sonnen can balance his broadcasting with training to fight. That cannot be an easy thing.

to me all he is doing is collecting a paycheck and he is a name in the UFC so some people will at least tune in

If he actually competes in this fight I will change my mind, but I honestly think the guy knows he will never be as good as he was on the juice and, like you said, is just collecting checks. The card looks great but this fight is looking less and less like a winner to me. The current state Rua, a chubby guy who needs to up the size of his fight shorts cuz it ain't 2005 anymore, and a dried up Sonnen at too high of a weight class.

Who knows, maybe it kicks ***.
