Unions and lawsuits could really hurt the profit, but it could overall help. Before fighters had a hard time putting a $ amount on the UFC, but now they know how much it is worth and can say what 50% or so is worth.

It doesnt work like that though. Profit participation is based on the revnue generated by a league not its total value. Union talk is silly anyway given that the fighters arent willing to do what they need to in order to organize.

I don't like Dana.

That said, I read both of the highest bids wanted Dana to stay on.

I knew it was only a matter of money and UFC would be sold. Honestly I'm surprised it didn't sell for 10 billion or more.

As much as I think Dana does things that hurts the sport, he is a good promoter and the mainstream press like ESPN and Fox love him.

Dana is the face of the UFC. I hate to say that, because I want him gone ASAP.

But I can certainly see why investers are only interested if Dana White stays onboard.

I wonder if it will bring any changes at all.

Re: UFC sold for 4.2 billion dollars

I'm not very knowledgeable on UFC but Dana seems to do a good job of promoting the sport and seems to make sure the fans see the fights that they want. That may be because UFC fighters don't appear to have the same individual bargaining strength as boxers and all UFC fighters are under one group. That allows them to keep salaries of the fighters under control(compared to boxers). Boxing has all those other federations to deal with (WBA,WBC, etc.) and everyone has a hand out.

UFC evidently sent a memo to its employees claiming it's not true
